GDPR, Brexit and Clinical Trials

Jusmedico Lawfirm advices our clients to prepare for a no-deal Brexit. If the UK is exiting the EU without a deal, UK will become a third country under GDPR. Thus, Sponsor/CRO/University is obliged to conclude standard contractual clauses in order to transfer health data from EEA to UK.
The clauses take effect if there are not alternative arrangements and the UK is now treated as a third country for the purposes of the GDPR planning.
We attended the seminar at the UK Embassy in Copenhagen on 23 Oct 2019, regarding GDPR and Clinical Trials Regulation.

Guidance on Supply in Clinical Trials

The British Department of Health issued a guidance on 25 October 2019 to secure the continued supply of medicines and medicinal products after a no-deal Brexit.
Brexit may cause delay of import of medicines. Jusmedico Lawfirm advises to address any stock issues and supply chain concerns and re-negotiate agreements in this relation.

Jusmedico Contribution to Comparative Law Report on Pharmaceutical Advertising:
University of Amsterdam

In the spring of 2008, Jusmedico was contracted by the University of Amsterdam (The Institute for Information Law (IViR) / Faculteit Der Rechtsgeleerd-heid), the Netherlands, to produce a comprehensive memorandum on the implementation of the pharmaceutical advertising rules as per Directive 2001/83/EC in Denmark. The purpose of the assignment, which Jusmedico was honoured to accept, was for the University of Amsterdam to produce a report to the Dutch Ministry of Health describing the national rules on pharmaceutical advertising in Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

On a regular basis, Jusmedico delivers presentations at international meetings, publishes articles, and is invited to give lectures. Notes from recent presentations, as well as articles published, are from time to time made available at this website if deemed relevant for a broader, but yet life science oriented, audience.
